| TRAINING TIPS WITH RALPH We adhere to a “positive reinforcement” training philosophy. Simply stated, dogs are rewarded when they do something right, with either praise or a treat. The quickest way to your puppies head is through their stomach. Training should be a fun experience for your dog and they should look forward to spending time with you. Make sure your dog knows what each command means and the expected behavior. Patience and persistence are the keys to training a good gun dog, especially when they are young. If at any point you get mad at your dog, end your training session. Nothing good can come from a session when you mad at your dog. We believe that training should be done using a building-block approach, always building and overlapping from the previous command learned. Always end a training session on a positive note!
