ENGLISH SETTERS
The English Setter is one of the oldest breeds of gun dogs.  It is beautiful, graceful, elegant, and slim with a uniquely ticked coat.  The
English Setter breed demonstrates an effortless movement when working or playing.  English Setters are considered well built, medium-sized
dogs, enabling them to be superior, natural hunters.  English Setters posses a natural, athletically balanced structure that enables them to
point and retrieve effectively.  This breed of gun dog has the ideal blend of strength, stamina, grace, and style.  The English Setter has a
variety of colors and patterns that demonstrate a soft, feathered, very flat-coat.  English Setters are gentle, intelligent, and loving pets,
making them great household companions.  They are quite affectionate toward children and other pets.  English Setter owners attest to the
dog's naturally ability and intelligence level.  This natural ability makes them easy to train.  The English Setter is mild mannered and
sensitive.  This breed is extremely loyal, patient and devoted to its family.

Size
A male English Setter weighs 55 to 65 pounds and stands approximately 25 inches at the shoulder.  Females measure approximately 24 inches
and weigh 40 to 45 pounds.

Color
The English Setter comes in various colors and patterns.  Generally, setters tend to be white with ticking or spots. Ticking is usually black,
tan, or tri-color, a combination of black and tan.  The English Setter's coat is soft and flat, with some feathering.  The feathering usually
appears on the ears, chest, abdomen, underside of thighs, back of the legs and tail.
SIRES
Kahlan’s Chaucer
Chaucer is a large tri-colored male English Setter with an EXCEPTIONAL nose.  When
someone hunts behind Chaucer for the first time, they’re often fooled into thinking he’s
pointing old scent or “trash” birds because the birds are seldom right under his nose … you
frequently have to walk 25 to 30 yards in front of him to flush the game!  Chaucer also
backs instinctively, retrieves excellently, and possesses a fantastic disposition.  His
pedigree reads like a “who’s who” of English Setters … CH Brannigan, CH Tomoka, CH
Performer … including two dogs currently in the Field Trial Hall of Fame (CH Tomoka and CH
The Performer).  Chaucer is a classy pointer that works field or woods in a thorough,
efficient manner.  He hunts quail, grouse, woodcock and pheasant all over the country.
