FINISHED DOGS
From time to time, Quail Point Kennels offers “finished” dogs for sale.  Like a “started” dog, prices vary depending on the dog and his/her
instinct and current level of training.  A “finished” dog is defined as:
  • "Loads Up” on command
  • Conditioned to electronic collar
  • Whoa broke
  • Steady on point
  • Steady to wing (steady to wing and shot upon request)
  • Retrieves to hand
  • Backs other dogs that are on point
  • Ready to hunt for you
Keep in mind that every dog is different, as is every hunter.  For many weekend hunters, a dog that holds point, retrieves birds (or even
points dead) and comes when called is perfect — no more training is necessary.  Heck, 90% of the hunting dogs out there don't perform to
that level!  However, other hunters desire a dog that backs without hesitation, holds point through a hurricane, remains steady to wing
and shot, AND is house broken.  It's also important to remember that the longer a dog has been trained, the more money the trainer has
wrapped up in food, vet bills, birds, etc.  While Quail Point Kennels' prices are always fair and honest, some dogs cost more than others.
Quail Point Tekoa Red   $1,000
Red is a white-and-tan setter with plenty of class and style both running and pointing.  He
has an easy-going temperament, and an excellent nose.  He is out of Tekoa Mountain Kennels
and is a son of CH Tekoa Mountain Patriot and CH Brannigan's Alice.  Red's pedigree is
loaded with champions like: CH Crescent City Dexter, CH Pinekone Max, CH Brannigan, CH
Tekoa Mountain Sunrise, CH Tomoka, CH Grouse Ridge John, and CH Susan's Lady Bird.  He
is very fast and classy, and naturally runs to the front.  In addition to being a natural
backer he has always stood his birds well, and broke easily. Contact Chris at

Quail Point Turbo
We use and recommend the
following:
Turbo is a 3-year-old, liver-and-white male Pointer.  Turbo's bloodline features the
following champions: Elhew Snakefoot, Elhew Strike, Guard Rail, High Fidelity, Miller's
Chief, Pike Creek Mike, and more!  Turbo is crazy about birds, and pursues them in a
driving, intense fashion, as his name suggests.  But, when not hunting, he's great with
people and a superb companion.  Turbo has hunted quail and woodcock in Georgia; pheasants
in South Dakota and Iowa; and grouse & woodcock in Wisconsin.

Turbo is broke to the flush, but not steady to wing & shot.  For an English Pointer, he is
not a big runner; he's made for the foot hunter and foot trialer.  He has competed in 5
UFTA trials and had a 5-minute finish (three birds pointed & retrieved in 5 minutes) last
season. Turbo is crazy about retrieving!  He has seen a lot of birds; as a puppy he was
trained for 7 months by professional Pat LeBree, and I've worked him regularly.  He's
accustomed to the e-collar, retrieves to hand, kennels up on command, travels well, and is
ready to hunt for you right now.  He's a great gun dog and foot-trial prospect!
